Sometimes it takes courage to survive.

	80% of all refugees and displaced persons globally are women and children.
	Rape is consciously used as a tool of genocide and weapons of war.
	One of six women under Taliban- controlled Afghanistan tried to commit suicide.

Through Project Independence women will have the opportunity to reclaim their lives. Project Independence will provide direct aid to help women provide basic needs for themselves and their families; skills and leadership training to give women the tools they need to rebuild their lives; and micro-credit loans to help women start an income-generating project or business as they look toward a new future.
