Dear Golden West Region Members,
We are planning a region wide service project to kick-off our new club in the Temecula Valley- and you can help! We've partnered with a local organization that has an "Empowerment Village" that houses 14 families of single women with children, who have all come out of the foster care system. The mission of the Empowerment Village is to help struggling mothers to obtain stability through employment and education, thereby keeping the children out of foster care and keeping families intact. This first service project involves providing the Empowerment Village with gas cards for the residents to get to school and work.
Here's how you can help:
- Take up a collection within your club and purchase a gas card token through the GWR website/storefront ($25 denominations)
- Encourage your club members to purchase gift card tokens individually
- Attend a free breakfast and tour of the Empowerment Village on the Thursday morning of Spring Conference (6/6/19). We intend to hand off a giant gift card with the amount collected noted, and have a press conference at the same time. The more members we have in attendance, the better the photo op!
