"Girls don't know that failure is part of success"

This powerful message is taught as part of our Dream it, Be it curriculum.  Collectively 20,886 girls participated in 491 projects in 14 countries around the world! This is an astonishing 44%  increase in number of girls served from 17/18, and your hard work is key to this incredible growth!
Golden West Region has a goal of 100% club participation in this program by June 30, 2020.  We are currently at 58%!  Please download the new PowerPoint Presentation created by Lori Blair, SIA Sr. Director of Programs.  This PowerPoint is designed to help your club engage community partners in your program, or to help you get your program started.  Reach out to any GWR Board member, GWR Program chair Pam Field, or GWR DIBI chair DeniAnoinette Mazingo for assistance.  Let's make our goal of 100%!  Remember, there is $250 reserve fund available to your club to get a new DIBI program started for your club!

Did you know that we are in phase 2 of the Diamond Membership Campaign?  We have reports for each club on the status of reaching your club designated goals.  Only 11 clubs in our region reached all 3 goals last year.  Don't you want to be on that list?  Some clubs have already met their goals, while others are ALMOST THERE!  Contact Governor-Elect Laurie Moses for your club's status update.  We all benefit by maintaining and growing our membership - One for all and all for one!

Finally, I want to thank each and every one of you who attended the Fall Meetings.  In District 1 - we "Never Stopped Dreaming, while in District 2 - we showed that "Teamwork makes the Dream work".  District 3 had the "Recipe for Success" and District 4 held their "Heart to Hands" for community service.  The District Directors incorporated fun and substance while also sharing of club successes.  I was honored to distribute the club awards in the categories of Club Giving, Diamond Campaign, Collective Impact, Live Your Dream Award participation, and DIBI program participation.  For access to all of the presentations, please click on this link.2019 Fall Meeting Resources

Congratulations to all of your club members for your commitment to improving the lives of women and girls in your communities.

SI President's Appeal

The Road to Equality

Our next Soroptimist International (SI) President’s Appeal, was announced by President Elect Sharon Fisher as she invited Soroptimists around the world to join her on a two-year road trip to find and empower women and girls who have been left behind.  The Appeal will raise awareness of human rights challenges that prevent women and girls from reaching their full potential.

Sharon explains: “The Road to Equality Appeal, 2019-2021, will focus on issues already the focus of much of the SI advocacy work, such as child marriage, FGM/C, the rights of older women, human trafficking, migration, and domestic violence.  A grassroots project for each topic will bring stories from the field that we can share, allowing Soroptimists to turn up the volume of our global voice.  Webinars and seminars will unite our membership, and host important conversations that bring to life the stories, issues and challenges that matter to women and girls.  On the road we will renew relationships and make new ones as we join together with other organisations travelling together to increase our presence and our impact – none of us can do the job alone."

The adoption of the 2030 Agenda pledged to ensure ‘no one will be left behind’ and to ‘endeavor to reach the furthest behind first’.

Please join us from 1 October, 2019 through to 30 September, 2021 on The Road to Equality as we transform the lives of women and girls through innovative projects and activities, with your valued financial support, your voice and your commitment.
