HAPPY NEW YEAR!
As we say goodbye to 2019 and welcome 2020, I am happy to report that we have 9 women who have stepped up to leadership to guide the future of the region.  We have a full slate of potential candidates for the 2020-2022 GWR Board of Directors, with some positions having more than one candidate!  You will see all of their resumes when the CALL to Conference is distributed by the first of March.  Clubs will have 2 months to review the candidates, evaluate the club's choices and delegates will cast their votes at Spring Conference in late May.

If you haven't already done so, please consider serving on a regional committee for 2020-2022.  The full list of committees was included in the December News Blast.  Reach out to Laurie Moses to let her know your interests and strengths.  We need all of you to increase our collective impact!

Is your club ready for electronic voting in February?  Check to ensure your club's soroptimist.net email account is current and accessible.  Contact Soroptimist headquarters immediately if you are having any issues accessing the email account.  For more information, read the  current Soroptimist Summary

Soroptimist At Work Campaign

SIA has launched a membership and social media campaign called #SoroptimistAtWork

The social media membership campaign is intended to demonstrate the value of Soroptimist membership across social media platforms. Using a unified hashtag, SIA, the regions, and clubs will post photos of Soroptimists volunteering and having a great time in fellowship and friendship together—two things members value most about SIA membership.

Between now and May 31, 2020 please use the hashtag #SoroptimistsAtWork across your club’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages to share posts and photos of your members having fun together!

We have some exciting plans and incentives in store for the clubs and regions whose posts earn the farthest “reach” online. Learn more about the campaign and how you can submit your club’s top posts to the contestSoroptimist At Work Contest Rules

Recruitment Tip

As we work together toward our unified goals in SIA’s Diamond Campaign, your club is working to recruit new members representing 14% or more of your starting total membership. In doing so, you contribute to our region’s ability to meet the same recruitment goal, and to SIA’s success overall as an organization.

Like you, prospective members are attracted to our mission of providing women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. When recruiting members to your club, it is important to put our mission front and center. Have you considered ways to engage prospective members in our Dream Programs? Check out some ideas in this Recruitment Tip , and let us know if your club has success with bringing in new members through involvement with our programs! membership@soroptimist.org
