Greetings Soroptimist of the Golden West Region!

We hope everyone is healthy and happy and staying safe!  This is such a precarious time for us with so much to do to carry out our Mission and so many unknowns for the future we must do it in. To date, neither the state of California nor Riverside county have lifted the restrictions that would allow us to hold the Leadership Training Retreat event…and if they don’t, this event could be canceled anyway.

However, the region has been working diligently with Conference Direct to negotiate with the Venue-Ontario Airport Hotel to mitigate our concerns for Leadership Training and GWR Board Installation on Saturday night, and to follow the California and CDC Guidelines.  They have agreed to the following:

• General Session and Banquets has been moved to larger function space to accommodate more tables spread 6 feet apart with only 6 people per table at no additional charge to us.They have also added larger rooms to accommodate social distancing for breakout sessions.

  
  

• Meals will be served with covers, or in the case of lunch which will be a boxed lunch. Servers will wear masks and gloves.

  
  

• Leadership attendees will be asked to stay home if they are not feeling well, have a fever, or a cough.Depending on the California mandates, attendees may be asked to wear masks as well.

  
  

• We will have more registration tables to mitigate long lines and there will be a large lobby with many doors open to prevent any bottle-necking.

  
  

• The hotel has agreed to modify the Force Majeure clause to include “pandemics” and a full inspection of the event space will be done prior to event.

  
  

• Hotel has reduced the room rate from $129 down to $109 and will honor those rates 2 days before and 2 days after the event.
