Governor's Corner
Hot Topics

“Education is the Key” – is my governor’s theme for some really strong reasons.  The facts are:

  • Education is the key to surpassing the tipping point in the poverty cycle
  • When women are educated and have opportunity and choice, they:
    • lift themselves up
    • break the cycle of poverty
    • build healthier families
    • Improve their communities and the world
  • Educating women is the single most effective anti-poverty intervention.(SIA Federation 2017 WHATIF speech)
  • According to Nelson Mandela … Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world

Our DREAMS Programs allow us to lift up our communities by providing access to education for women and girls.

Investing in women and girls to achieve their DREAMS – that’s what we do!

I look forward to seeing your LYDA winner submissions and your Dream it, Be it conferences.  Keep up the great work ladies!

The GIFT of Membership

Her victory is your victory.  Let us celebrate and champion each other.  It’s not the individual efforts that propel us forward to success – it’s the COMBINED efforts that create beautiful results.

Let us demand a seat at the table – As Abby Wambaugh states: “Success, Power, and Joy – these are not pies where a bigger slice for her,  means a smaller slice for you.  Let’s claim infinite joy, success and power together”

You have given yourself the gift of membership, so I challenge you to use it:

  • become a better version of you through your service to others - Never underestimate your ability to transcend your imagination’s outermost limits and bring your vision to fruition
  • Find joy when you impact the life of a woman that is so deserving of a helping hand
  • Be empowered to break down boundaries
  • Have the courage to pursue your dreams – find that inner drive that turns your dreams into a shining reality
