Soroptimists Celebrating Success Award Program

These annual best practice awards recognize successful club projects that improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment and promote Soroptimist as an organization with that mission.  Categories encompass the four pillars supporting the SIA Strategic Plan: program, membership, fundraising and public awareness.

The deadline to submit an entry to your region chair is September 30 each year. Regions will select region-level recipients. The first place recipient in each of the pillars will compete for the international federation-level awards. Region recipients will be recognized at region conferences. Federation recipients will be recognized at a federation meeting.

Federation Finalist: Public Awareness
"Not a Secret Anymore"

SI/Corona’s mission was to “shout from the rooftops” and raise awareness about Soroptimist. To increase public awareness about Soroptimist, the club implemented several tactics. They kept up regular communication by keeping their website refreshed, sending email updates about programs and events, and posting to the club Facebook page at least once a week. They also gained exposure for Soroptimist by maintaining membership in the Corona Chamber of Commerce, attending events such as the Women’s Leadership Conference, and purchasing tables at fundraising events for their partner organizations. Their successes included inducting 10 new members and giving 3 Live Your Dream Awards. They also secured over $50,000 worth of community sponsorships and grants, 10% of which they gave to Club Giving. Finally, the club was recognized by the Chamber of Commerce with their first annual Uplift Award.
